Haley Blumenfeld, MSW, RSW

Individual and Couple Therapist

Haley Blumenfeld is a Registered Social Worker. She obtained her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Toronto.

Haley sees people of all ages with diverse concerns, including experiences with symptoms related to a mental health condition, feeling unable to cope with the stress or problems in their lives, experiencing relationship issues, low self-esteem, and grief in an individual or couple context.

Haley has always been particularly passionate about women’s mental health and has a specialty practice focusing on reproductive and maternal well-being. Common concerns include role transition challenges, anxiety, infertility, postpartum depression, sleep issues, birth trauma, childhood or adulthood trauma, and pelvic prolapse.

As a Master of Social Work student in the Mental Health and Health Field of Study at the University of Toronto, Haley completed a Practicum at Women’s College Hospital in the Reproductive Life Stages (RLS) Program. At Women’s College Hospital Haley provided psychotherapy to women and their families around a variety of obstetrical issues, including but not limited to postpartum depression and perinatal loss.

Haley appreciates that engaging in therapy is a vulnerable and courageous undertaking, and aims to create a space that is warm, non-judgmental, comfortable and collaborative. Haley’s therapeutic process recognizes client’s as the expert of their experience and is founded on respect for each individual’s pace. She offers a client-centered, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive approach that is highly individualized to each of her client’s unique needs, goals, strengths, and interests. Her approach to therapy is eclectic and integrates techniques from several evidence-based models: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

Haley understands that caring arrangements, feeding and social-emotional needs present significant barriers for new parents in their ability to engage in therapy. To address this challenge she invites her client’s and their baby’s to be present in sessions.
