Now Offering: Tele-Rehabilitation Appointments

Social distancing doesn’t mean you have to struggle alone with your pelvic health concerns! To help keep you physically and mentally healthy, we’re here to support you via our privacy compliant virtual appointment platform*. Our practitioners are available for you online starting immediately. You may read the information below and watch this video to learn more about how we can assist you virtually and what to expect with virtual pelvic physiotherapy care.

We acknowledge that many of our services are strongly based on manual therapy but there are so many other ways that we can support you online. Here are some of the ways we can:

Pelvic Health Education & Exercise Sessions:

There is so much education that goes on during one-on-one pelvic healthcare in the clinic that can easily be conveyed online or over the phone with your therapist. Anything from:

  • bladder and bowel hygiene and care

  • sexual pain and dysfunction support

  • abdomino-pelvic pain education and strategies to help manage your condition

  • dietary and lifestyle consultations

  • exercise education, progression and (some) demonstration

  • pre and post-operative care (eg. post-prostate surgery, post-gynecologic surgery)

  • menopause related concerns

Prenatal/Labour and Delivery Sessions:

This is an important session to consider especially if you are at 36 weeks of gestation and beyond. Your pelvic physiotherapist can help assist you with strategies around perineal care, labour breathing, positioning during labour & delivery and more! You may also benefit from checking in with your therapist should you be in within your second or third trimester for concerns around pelvic girdle or pubis symphysis pain, urinary incontinence, diastasis rectus abdominus or heaviness and pressure sensations.

Postnatal and Post-Surgical Check-ins:

These sessions can be quite helpful for those that have given birth or had a surgery recently and need some advise and support around  self-care, nutrition, exercise and mental health concerns.

In addition to all this, there is plenty more that we can help you with. If you have any questions, email us at info@proactiveph.com and we can help you determine if a virtual session is appropriate for you.
